Children are taught using imaginative soccer-oriented games and basic physical education activities, rather than through competitive team play or repetitive practice drills.

The professionally designed games and activities are age-appropriate, enabling the children to acquire fundamental skills while simply having fun with a soccer ball.

We employ professional soccer coaches to run the Little Cleat clinics - there are no practices -

Cost $55 - You get a soccer ball and a jersey to keep

Young children should enjoy soccer.  Emphasis is placed on maximizing each child’s participation to gradually enhance overall ability and enjoyment of the sport.

Players are not taught positioning or tactics as such instruction is more suitable for older children. Over time, children will develop an appreciation and affinity for the game and team play in general.

At the first session of Little Cleats each child will receive a soccer jersey and soccer ball.

Equipment

For our outdoor fall and spring seasons, your child should be dressed in shorts and t-shirt, or other weather appropriate clothing, and may wear sneakers or cleats.  Children should wear shin guards to protect them against kicks from other players.  Also, for your child’s safety, please remove all jewelry prior to each session.  Each child should have an ample supply of water based on weather conditions, and snacks are also a good idea.

What are the Outdoor Rainout Procedures?

If Little Cleats has to be cancelled because of inclement weather, the website will reflect this by 8:00 am.  Go to www.bloomfieldsoccer.us.

Or, call the hotline number: 973-338-4310.

Requesting Children to be on the Same Team

We will try to honor all requests for a child to attend a particular session to be with a friend, sibling or neighbor.  Please indicate any preference on your registration.  This placement cannot be guaranteed, but best efforts will be made.

Miscellaneous

Late registrations for Little Cleats are permitted (if space is available) on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please send an email to the Club if you would like to register your child.

After the start of the season, there will be no refunds of fees.

Label all your child’s clothes that you bring to the field.

Please keep our facilities clean by picking up your belongings and disposing of your trash.

There are bathroom facilities at both indoor and outdoor locations.

We are looking forward to a great outdoor season and thank you for your support.

Sports Concussion Injury
Prevention and Management

Coaches:
Governor Christie passed a Law on Sports Concussion Injury Prevention and Management back in December 2010. This law will also begin to impact all Youth Soccer Programs run through NJYS that apply to rent out/use HS or Public Parks and Recreation Fields -- besides turning in a Certificate of Insurance, School/Parks and Recs will require at some point start to require proof that all coaches using these complexes show proof of training in Sports Concussions.

Here are the links to obtain said training--its simple and FREE!
